Superintendent job requires Ann Clark to move to Mecklenburg County

Even though Ann Clark has been with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for decades, her new job as superintendent is requiring her to move.

Clark has long lived on the shore of Lake Norman in Mooresville. That's in Iredell County. State law, however, requires school superintendents to live in the district that they lead.

I just got a hold of Clark's contract, and it states that she is to move to Mecklenburg County "as soon as possible." The CMS communications staff hasn't gotten back to me on whether she's moved yet. Her contract does not mention the district covering any relocation expenses that new superintendents typically get when they come in from out of town.

See Clark's contract here.

The contract also mentions that Clark won't be considered for the superintendent's position "long-term." If she is in the job on June 1, 2016, she'll be eligible for a bonus.

I know she would never have a house in the district and live somewhere else.

We all know that is something that is not done in Mecklenburg Government.

just curious, Do/Did her children attend CMS schools?

Simply amazing that those who are in charge of a sinking ship like CMS haven't even cared to live in the county where their policies have caused such much harm and unnecessary expense.
Will the media finally pin her down on the coup she pulled?
Morrison was making too much progess and would jeopardize future funding if any significant gains were made in educating our young people.

Just get an apartment or use someones address like "Dr" Vilma Leake but only after she was discovered living in another district and lying about having her PhD ...
She also claimed she had a son who died of AIDS too but nobody knew she ever had a son ...
She got a free pass on all her lies so far though ... Since the super job is only temp she should be OK.

The rule actually says a permament superintendent must live in CMS district not a tempo.

But then again the last superman and the one before that etc etc were only short lived temps ... They all tried to break the golden gap rule.

At least McCray and Battle have been forced to tell Clark she will only be a Kelly Girl temp up front and not scheme behind her back ...

Clark should have never changed her story about the real PhD Dr Heath Morrison saying he was a bully before she told the truth and said he wasnt a bully that cost her her the job ...

She knew Dr Morrison's integrity got the best of him so he stupidly tried to end the "gap". Big mistake.

This could have turned a local snowball into a national avalanche landslide causing a forfeiture of trillions of free loot off taxpayer guinea pigs in not only education but everything else. Welfare could have ended with food stamps. 50% of America would be forced to get a real job.
Worse of all the "gap" could have been vanished permanently and the under class eliminated heaven forbid

The Golden Gap Rule is "do unto others before they do unto you" was violated .
Heads had to roll. Live and learn.

Our socialist "Separate But Unequal" bread and butter system MUST never be tampered with. We must never return to the old Separate But Equal ... G-d forbid ... Got it ?

CO, Are you REALLY going to give Clark, Battle and Mary a pass on the coup they pulled on Morrison? Just cannot find the spine to pursue it, huh? Might irritate a group of pols you are always protecting, right?

Where do Battle's kids go to school? I think this is relevant, but we have been told nothing by the press.

10:17AM - not really. We knew where Heath's and Gormans kids went to school, all CMS schools. I think it would be interesting to know if she puts her kids in CMS schools or not.

CMS - What a JOKE. And lying, cheating Vilma Leake should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.

Many CMS employees do not send their kids to CMS schools. That's nothing new.

The employees do not care anything about Clark. Why should the taxpayer and the CO ?
